Above and Beyond Talent is seeking a Lab Technician – Quality Assurance I to support laboratory testing and quality initiatives for a global leader in consumer and professional products. This role is responsible for performing standardized testing on finished materials, ensuring accurate data collection, and maintaining compliance with established laboratory procedures and safety protocols.
**Good fit if you have the following requirements:**
* High school diploma or equivalent required; 1–3 years of relevant laboratory experience required.
* Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
* Demonstrated ability to adapt to frequent changes and shifting priorities.
* Basic computer proficiency required, including experience with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
* Strong initiative and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively; must be capable of making sound decisions and recommendations.
* Experience with MTS Criterion Tensile Frame instrumentation and MTS Test Suites software is highly preferred.
* **Physical Requirements:**
* Ability to stand and walk frequently throughout the day.
* Ability to reach, bend, squat, and perform similar movements regularly.
* Ability to lift up to 35 lbs as needed.
* Proficient in the use of small hand tools.
* **Additional Expectations:**
* Willingness to participate in laboratory pilots, including test method development and competitive testing.
* Willingness to support test method validation and competitive testing initiatives.
**What you’ll be doing / Performance Objectives:**
* Responsible for safely handling and testing finished substrates (e.g., non-woven and consumer products) in accordance with approved Standard Test Methods (STMs).
* Performs basic quality assurance tasks, including standard analytical testing on provided samples.
* Supports the calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment as needed.
* Accurately documents test results in compliance with site requirements and communicates findings to researchers.
* Adheres to all laboratory safety protocols, behavioral guidelines, and attendance policies.
* Reports directly to the GNW Lab Supervisor but must be capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
**Payrate:** $15.00 to $20.00
